Mythos hotel embodies all of the qualities of a boutique hotel in a mix of its modern contemporary style with sleek finishes, a feeling of extravagance, and simultaneous earthiness.
As far as boutique hotels go, attention to detail, intimacy, and privacy are their key competing factors and Mythos hotel embodies all of those in a mix of its modern contemporary style with sleek finishes, a feeling of extravagance and simultaneous earthiness. Every detail has been added with an evident consideration, from the colors of the walls, the furniture, and the little sneak peek to the Rwandan biodiversity enframed pictures on the walls. The vibe is all warm, cozy and inviting.
This charming hotel is located in the Kiyovu area of Kigali, Rwanda. While it is still in the middle of the City of Kigali’s hustle and bustle, the neighborhood is serene and surprisingly calm that choosing this location was one of the many proofs of attention to detail here. It is within a few minutes’ drive from the airport and you are near the main roads leading literally everywhere in the country. The view is not exactly a penthouse, but it's picturesque, especially at night.
Right from the reception, the hotel whispers comfort and class through every corner of every room. Rooms are color-coded (Silver and gold). A golden platter on the door could mean that the room is slightly better than its silver counterpart (at least we thought so, we love Gold). Remember to ask if that affects price in any way.
Mythos offers different kinds of rooms
the executive one: Queen and King size bed, huge bathroom with shower and bath, and a living room with a mini kitchen (you can make your own coffee, yay). These rooms offer communicative doors (Something you may not find in most hotels in Kigali,) so if you are traveling with family, you should find it quite relieving that you don't have to be so far from each other.
Other rooms are also as spacious and well equipped, with a study, mini kitchen, closet, a huge bed (which can be made into twin beds upon request), clean bathroom, terrace, and the view (oh, the VIEW).
Other rooms are also a
The terrace with an outdoor seat serves you with a view of the city and the swimming pool.
The swimming pool is just like the hotel, small in size, intimate and charming. It is cleaned often and the equipment is changed as often. It's a perfect place to relax in the afternoon, read a book, or whisper sweet nothings to your Love.
Yet another favorite is the restaurant. The restaurant is an 80-seater accessible all day to anyone (you don’t have to be staying in). There is usually music or a soccer match playing on the TV while you enjoy your lunch/dinner. They offer breakfast, and continental menu (all day long), a brunch, and a lunch buffet. Their food is yummy and well prepared. If you have allergies or a special diet, do check in with them upon booking on what options they have.
On the same floor as the restaurant is the VIP lounge. You will tell by bottles of wine, artfully arranged to welcome you in, cozy sofas, and the feel of someone special. (We were told that it may be expanded into a bar, and yes that will be perfect.)
The view from here is the greenness of Gikondo, the city on the other side, and a little bit inside the Embassy of Congo.
Gift shopping on the ground floor.
The ground floor, where there are the spa and yoga class, (we didn't check them out when we went, as they were under maintenance, but hey… we noticed they look kinda cool, neat washrooms) There is a gift shop that sells Rwandan craft and artisanry, decor, and print shirts handbags, sandals… plus other things in gift shops. It's on the same floor as the pool and the spa. Therefor these activities? Find something to buy here as well. You will surely find something lovely.
The last point, (but not least at all) is the staff. Mythos Hotel Kigali is the epitome of customer care, (other hotels, please learn). Everyone is jovial here, and they fuss over you as a host should. (They even remember to call you by your name). Don't be surprised when as you navigate the menu, someone walks over and offers their recommendation on what meal to try, or shows up on your door to ask if you need help drawing the curtains at night, (No, not in an annoying way.)
You should always consider Mythos hotel Kigali for your staycations with friends or family, solo travels, or those weekends with Bae. Their service will be one you remember, but there is also the food (I love breakfast), the class, and the comfort. You will be wowed.
